The UK’s annual celebration of grassroots music and culture, Independent Venue Week (IVW), has announced the trailblazing rock duo Nova Twins as its 2026 Artist Ambassadors. The nationwide event will run for seven days and nights from Monday, January 26, to Sunday, February 1, 2026, with over 200 authentic, independently-owned venues expected to participate.
The fiercely independent duo, Amy Love and Georgia South, are renowned as one of the UK’s most exciting live acts. They have built a loyal fanbase through relentless touring, redefined the rock genre, and earned praise from icons like Tom Morello and Elton John. As Ambassadors, the Nova Twins will perform an exclusive live show during the week, with details to be announced soon.
IVW Founder and CEO Sybil Bell praised the band, stating, "They are a true force of nature, a genuinely innovative band, and testament to live music’s power to break down barriers, build communities and bring about positive change." Bell highlighted the band's focus on "Actual Intelligence"—talent, hard work, and in-person connections—in an era dominated by AI discussions.
Beyond their music, the Nova Twins have actively championed positive change in the industry, notably campaigning for the MOBO Awards to recognize alternative music with its own category.
Since its launch in 2013, IVW has become a crucial event in the UK music calendar, encouraging fans to support their local venues during a traditionally quiet time of year. Over one million tickets have been purchased for IVW events to date.
The 2026 line-up is already shaping up, with confirmed performances from acts including the Buzzcocks, HotWax, Naima Bock, and an 808 State (DJ Set). IVW has also launched a revamped website and a new industry portal to simplify the connection between artists, agents, and venues. The deadline for venue registration is Tuesday, December 9.
