Britney Spears has claimed she has suffered "brain damage" in a concerning new message.

Taking to Instagram on Sunday night, the pop icon posted a photo of her riding a horse in which she has her back on display.

In the accompanying caption, Britney reflected on a "traumatic experience" she had amid her controversial conservatorship when there was a bodyguard stationed at her door for "four months".

"It did more than hurt my body... trust me there's ALOT I didn't share in my book and still things at this very moment I've kept hidden because it's incredibly painful and sad," she began, referring to her 2023 memoir, The Woman in Me. "I do feel the logic and mindfulness in my body as ONE was 100 percent murdered and destroyed I couldn't dance or move for 5 months."

Britney's 13-year conservatorship was terminated in 2021.

The Gimme More star went on to make comparisons between her life experiences and the storyline of 2014 Disney film, Maleficent. In the fantasy movie, Angelina Jolie plays the titular character - a powerful fairy who has her wings caged.

"At the end of the movie she goes to a church and somehow find her wings. Protector of the Moors considered a villain but actually one with mother nature... animals would bow to her... she was brilliant in that movie," the 43-year-old continued. "I do feel like my wings were taken away and brain damage happened to me a long time ago 100 percent... I have of course moved on from that troubling time in my life and I'm blessed to be alive..."

Representatives for Britney have not yet commented on her latest post or her alleged health conditions.

But back in November 2022, the Toxic hitmaker revealed that she was suffering from physical pain due to nerve damage on the right side of her body. Britney didn't specify what caused the issue at the time.

To conclude her candid message, the music superstar appeared to make a dig at her ex-husband Kevin Federline, who makes a series of damning claims about Britney and her relationship with their two sons, Sean Preston, 20, and Jayden James, 19, in his new memoir, You Thought You Knew.

"Its fun to tell stories at this point because this all might sound so silly but with what garbage literally is being said about me I said why not bring SUBSTANCE to the table (sic)," she added.
