Coco Jones says wants her new album Why Not More? to show people that there are ‘other sides to her’ other than ‘big songs and heartbreak’

RB: “So, for people that are coming across you today for the first time, what's the story of the album and how did we get there?”

CJ: “Yeah. I mean, before the album, I did this EP that kind of put me on, in a sense, and really exploded way more than I ever intended. And so, kind of what happened is I took what I learned from the EP and, you know, you grow as an artist, you grow as a person. And I wanted to expand on that. If you look at the EP, it's like a couple different sonics, but not too much, because I was like, ‘I just got here.’ You know, ‘I just want y'all to like me, here's what I do.’ But with Why Not More? that's why the title is, Why Not More? Because I did really have these desires to do something a little more pop, mainstream vibes, you know? And so Why Not More? was me asking myself, ‘Why not just do it and see what happens?’ I mean, I know people love this thing that I do. They love the big songs and the music and the heartbreak, but there's other sides to me. Why not show them, you know?”

American singer-songwriter and actress Coco Jones admits she is baffled by the British phrase ‘Lovely jubbly’

RB: “Lovely jubbly. It’s Robert Bruce and Shayna Marie looking after you on Capital XTRA Breakfast, and we are joined by the one and only Coco Jones!”

SM: “Coco, it’s your first time on the show and we do this with all our guests. We put a minute on the clock and ask you some quickfire questions.”

CJ: “Okay. Well, I have one question first. What is ‘lovely jubbly?’”

RB: “What’s lovely jubbly?”

CJ: “That is my second time hearing that today, and I’m like, ‘What is that?’ What’s lovely jubbly?”

RB: “It’s like, ‘Lovely!’”

CJ: “It’s it like a real thing?”

RB: “Yeah, it’s lovely jubbly.”

CJ: “Could you be at a professional place and be like, ‘Oh, that’s lovely jubbly?’ Like, at a job interview?”

SM: “That’s very corporate talk, yeah.”

CJ: “Are you serious?”

SM: “Lovely jubbly.”

CJ: “Oh wow.”

RB: “You can take that with you wherever you go.”

CJ: “It’s giving like, ‘Hot dog, hot dog, hot diggity dog!”

SM: “Haha! You got the English lingo down, to be honest.”

CJ: “I’m going to hit that. It’s got some spice to it!”
