After a run of singles across 2025, Stepping On Lego closes the chapter with Teen in the Eighties, praised as “fusing retro-futuristic textures with razor-sharp alt-pop hooks… a cinematic protest against the curated chaos of modern life.” (Mystic Sons) The track marked the last teaser before the long-awaited second album Wide Eyes, out September 12th.

The project of Irish songwriter and producer Conor Waters, Wide Eyes is the product of three years of reflection, writing, and evolution. Where Teen in the Eighties dissected digital-era disconnection, this new record dives inward, exploring vulnerability, shyness, and self-acceptance with unflinching honesty.

Featuring collaborations with Ellen O’Meara and Rachel Walsh, as well as a striking cover of Arcade Fire’s My Body Is a Cage, Wide Eyes presents Waters at his most open and transformative. Across its eight tracks - including singles Nightshade, Mindless Chatter, Imposter, and Inside My Head, the album balances cinematic soundscapes with intimate lyricism.

“Writing this album was a therapeutic process,” says Waters. “It’s about learning to stop letting insecurities define me and finding clarity in embracing authenticity.”

Stepping On Lego’s debut established him as a bold voice in Ireland’s alt-electronic scene, fusing together guitars, synths, and strings into widescreen soundscapes. With Wide Eyes, Waters cements his reputation as a songwriter unafraid to travel back in time and let vulnerability lead.

Wide Eyes will be available on all major streaming platforms September 12th, following the release of four singles between January and August.
