Maxïmo Park will celebrate the 20th anniversary of their beloved debut album, A Certain Trigger, with a special UK tour in 2026. The band will perform songs from the iconic album along with their greatest hits, giving fans a chance to revisit the music that launched their career.
The tour includes a highly anticipated return to London's O2 Brixton Academy, a venue where the band played many sold-out shows during the A Certain Trigger era. The celebration will culminate with a homecoming show at Newcastle’s legendary O2 City Hall.
To mark the anniversary, the band will also reissue the Mercury Prize-nominated album on October 31 in a variety of physical formats, including a single LP, double gatefold LP, and a 3xLP collection. The reissues will feature a collection of "Missing Songs," including 'A19' and 'Isolation,' as well as a "Rarities & B-Sides" CD with unreleased demos and session tracks.
Produced by Paul Epworth, A Certain Trigger was a standout in the mid-2000s indie scene. With singles like "Apply Some Pressure," "Graffiti," and "Going Missing," the album blended punk energy with pop sensibility and literary smarts, setting Maxïmo Park apart from their contemporaries.
Lead singer Paul Smith expressed his excitement, stating, "Not many bands make it to a twentieth year together so we’re having a big celebration... The tour...will be a joyful experience for both us and our audience. We still feel the same exhilaration stepping onto the stage as we did in the beginning."
