Green Man Festival 2025 is in full swing, with Friday's events highlighted by a monumental return from indie duo Wet Leg. The band thrilled festival-goers with a surprise intimate set before taking the stage as the headlining act, marking a full-circle moment since their 2021 festival debut.

Hot off the release of their acclaimed sophomore album, Moisturizer, Wet Leg brought their signature wit and razor-sharp sound to the main stage. The crowd went wild for hits like "Chaise Longue," and fans were treated to new favorites from the album. The headline performance followed a secret, packed-out appearance at the Round The Twist stage, where they played a stripped-down set as part of the Green Man sessions.

The Mountain Stage was also home to other standout performances. Melancholic alt-pop artist BC Camplight surprised audiences with a secret set, playing fan favorites from his latest record, A Sober Conversation. Rising stars Wunderhorse also captivated the audience, perfectly setting the stage for the night's headliners.

Meanwhile, on the Far Out stage, Brooklyn rapper MIKE set a contemplative tone before Greentea Peng took over, radiating warmth and soul with her Friday night headline performance. Her music, from her sophomore album TELL DEM IT'S SUNNY, filled the night with a sun-drenched spirit despite the moonlit sky.

Beyond the music, the festival celebrated queer identity with the annual Green Man Pride March, which saw a large crowd parade through the festival grounds. The Talking Shop stage also featured a compelling conversation with singer and activist Charlotte Church, led by Welsh radio host Huw Stephens.

With the festival continuing, attendees can look forward to even more performances from acts like Underworld, CMAT, and English Teacher. The first day of Green Man 2025 set a high standard, showcasing why it remains one of the UK’s most celebrated festivals for both established and emerging talent.
