Teyana Taylor has been ordered to pay her ex-husband Iman Shumpert $70,000 (£52,000) after being found in contempt of court.

The singer/actress and the basketball player, who were married between 2016 and 2023, both accused each other of being in contempt of court for allegedly violating the terms of their 2024 divorce judgment.

According to Us Weekly, the exes attended a court hearing in which they both gave testimony about the allegations on 25 July, and the judge issued his final order on 5 August.

In his verdict, the judge agreed that Taylor wilfully violated their divorce judgment by disclosing details of it in an Instagram video in March.

"The court finds (Taylor) in violation of the Final Judgment and Decree of Divorce and is in willful contempt," the documents read.

The 34-year-old was ordered to pay Shumpert's lawyer $70,000 in legal fees, which had to be paid in full within two weeks.

Elsewhere in the verdict, the judge denied Taylor's request to find the sportsman in contempt of court, insisting that she had failed to "present sufficient evidence" to back up her claim that he leaked details about their divorce judgment to the media.

"It appears Taylor and her counsel failed to engage in even a minimal amount of diligence to determine whether her claim of contempt had any factual support at all before the petition was filed," the order read.

The judge also denied her request that Shumpert pay her legal fees.

In addition, Shumpert had accused the One Battle After Another actress of being in contempt of court for allegedly violating their parenting plan. The claim was also denied, with the judge ruling that he failed to prove that she was "willfully contemptuous".

Taylor and Shumpert share two daughters: Junie, nine, and Rue, four.

She is now dating Rebel Ridge actor Aaron Pierre.
