Depeche Mode, in partnership with Trafalgar Releasing and Sony Music Vision, has announced the global release of their new feature film, DEPECHE MODE: M. The movie will be shown in cinemas and IMAX for a limited theatrical event starting on Tuesday, October 28. Following a successful debut at the Tribeca Festival, the film is expected to screen in over 2,500 cinemas across more than 60 countries.

DEPECHE MODE: M is an expressive and dynamic cinematic experience directed by the acclaimed Mexican filmmaker Fernando Frías, best known for his award-winning film I'm No Longer Here. The movie is built around footage from the band's three sold-out Mexico City shows during their 2023-2024 Memento Mori Tour.

The film takes audiences on a unique journey, exploring the profound connection between music, mortality, and Mexican culture. According to the band’s lead singer, Dave Gahan, the film beautifully tells the story of the deep connection between music, culture, and people through the lens of their shows in Mexico City. New York Magazine praised the film, noting that Frias "uses the band's 2023 Mexico City concerts to ruminate about art, celebrity, and death," while USA Today highlighted how "the theme of mortality is threaded throughout the film, it is also balanced with hope, appreciation and more than a dab of realism.”

The Memento Mori Tour was a massive success, with the band playing to over 3 million fans at 112 shows worldwide. It was hailed by Rolling Stone as "a stunning celebration of life and music." The tour and film represent the latest chapter in Depeche Mode's enduring legacy.
