Biffy Clyro’s Simon Neil admits that he is a Murder, She Wrote superfan, says his Jessica Flecther action figure is the ‘best £45 he has ever spent’
CM: “What are your guilty pleasures?”
SN: “Eurovision.”
DB: “Are you serious?”
JJ: “He loves Eurovision.”
CM: “You do?”
SN: “Yeah.”
CM: “Do you love Eurovision, or does your Mrs love Eurovision and you pretend to enjoy Eurovision to keep the peace, because you’ve got an eight-month tour coming up?”
SN: “In our house, I’m the only one... Well, Frankie, my wife, loves Eurovision, and we both love Murder, She Wrote. What more do you need in a modern-day love affair?”
DB: “It’s so refreshing to hear you say that.”
SN: “Believe it or not, I ordered a Jessica Fletcher action figure a few weeks ago. I’ll be single soon, guys!”
CM: “Ben is wiping the blood from his mouth after another feast, and Simon’s like, ‘It’s on in two minutes, come on! Jessica is on the bike already. She’s on the typewriter!’”
BJ: “Haha!”
SN: “They're actually remaking Murder, She Wrote.”
DB: “Is this the one you bought? We’ve just got a shot of it on the screen.”
SN: “It’s high detail. Look at the attention to detail! It's the best £45 I've ever spent.”
JR: “In the title of this one it says ‘Clothes.’ I hope there’s not another one!
SN: “Haha! There’s an X-rated Jessica Fletcher!”
CM: “It looks like she has different outfits, on the action figure.”
SN: “You have no idea. It’s the gift that keeps on giving. Look at that, you've got your casual wear…”
DB: “Do you dress her up in different clothes on different days?”
SN: “To be fair, I haven’t actually received it yet. It’s really annoying me, because it’s one of those specialist deliveries.”
CM: “It’s funny what you spend your money on, isn’t it?”
Biffy Clyro’s Simon Neil says the band ‘learned the hard way’ about not neglecting themselves ‘physically and mentally’ on tour
CM: “Do you love being on tour?”
SN: “Do you know what? You fall in and out of love with it. It's about getting the balance. It's not kind of romantic to say it, but if you spend eight months a year on the road and in a bus, you neglect yourself as a human being. You fall apart mentally and physically. We've learned that the hard way. So now, we just try and tour a bit more sensibly. So, like, we'll go out for four weeks at a time, because that's kind of the limit of when we can give the best of ourselves at the shows; it hasn't become rote and habitual. You know, we do like the shows to matter. You know, we're not like a choreographed band. So, to keep that energy and kind of passion, four weeks is it and then we tap out.”
