Doja Cat has mocked Sydney Sweeney's controversial new denim campaign for American Eagle.

In the marketing imagery, the Euphoria actress poses in a variety of jeans and denim outfits. The advertisements are accompanied by the tagline "Sydney Sweeney Has Great Jeans".

In one clip shared via Instagram, Sydney - who is blonde and blue-eyed - is seen standing in front of a poster which has the word "genes" crossed out and replaced with "jeans".

While in a second video, The White Lotus star states, "Genes are passed down from parents to offspring, often determining traits like hair colour, personality, and even eye colour. My jeans are blue."

The campaign has generated backlash online, with some critics alleging that the phrase "great genes" promotes a rhetoric associated with eugenics.

And on Tuesday, Doja - real name Amala Dlamini - took to TikTok to post a spoof of the ad.

Adopting an exaggerated Southern drawl, the Kiss Me More star comments, "Genes are passed down from parents to offspring, often determining traits like hair colour, personality, and even eye colour. My jeans are... bleee (sic)."

The video quickly racked up over 3.5 million likes.

Representatives for Sydney, 27, and American Eagle have not yet addressed the controversy.
