Nicole Scherzinger was overcome with emotion as she concluded her run in the stage musical Sunset Blvd. on Sunday.
The former Pussycat Dolls star, who officially kicked off her stint on Broadway in October, was visibly emotional as she took her final bow and then pulled director Jamie Lloyd in for a tight hug during the curtain call at the St. James Theatre in New York City.
According to footage posted on social media, Scherzinger and Lloyd both gave speeches to the audience. The singer, with a voice thick with emotion, thanked the crowd for making her final show "the greatest day of (her) life".
Ahead of her final performance, the 47-year-old wrote on Instagram, "Today, the sun sets on Sunset Blvd for the final time. After living and breathing Norma Desmond for the past two years, it's almost impossible to grasp that today is the last show. What began as a limited run, then extended, now somehow, nearly 10 months on Broadway have flown by."
She continued, "Norma has changed me forever. Thank you, Broadway 'for the magic in the making.' Thank you @andrewlloydwebber @jamielloyd @alanwilliamsmd @fabianaloise and to the entire beautiful, brilliant @sunsetblvdmusical company, for everything."
Scherzinger concluded her post with a shout-out to Lloyd, writing, "Jamie, the ultimate brave pioneer, you have given us all new ways to dream. Thank you for showing me what is possible when you dare to be braver. I love you."
Last month, the Don't Hold Your Breath hitmaker won the Best Performance by a Leading Actress in a Musical prize at the Tony Awards for the production.
She also won the Olivier Award for the show's original run at London's Savoy Theatre between September 2023 and January 2024.
