Legendary vocalist Robert Plant has officially announced 'Saving Grace,' the highly anticipated debut album featuring his new band and the distinctive vocals of Suzi Dian. Described by Plant as "a songbook of the lost and found," the album is set to be released on September 26, 2025, via Nonesuch Records.
Fans can get their first taste of the new project immediately with the release of Robert Plant and Saving Grace’s reimagined rendition of Low’s ‘Everybody’s Song,’ available now.
The genesis of 'Saving Grace' blossomed during the lockdown in the English countryside, when Plant – accustomed to a more nomadic musical life, including his recent Grammy-nominated reunion with Alison Krauss – found himself deeply connecting with a diverse group of musicians. This ensemble, sharing a lean towards evocative song, has spent the past six years evolving into a dynamic collective. The band features Suzi Dian (vocals), Oli Jefferson (drums), Tony Kelsey (guitar), Matt Worley (banjo and strings), and Barney Morse-Brown (cello).
Plant expressed his joy about the collaboration: "We laugh a lot, really. I think that suits me. I like laughing. You know, I can't find any reason to be too serious about anything. I'm not jaded. The sweetness of the whole thing… These are sweet people and they are playing out all the stuff that they could never get out before. They have become unique stylists and together they seem to have landed in a most interesting place.”
Following his acclaimed Nonesuch releases, 'lullaby and… The Ceaseless Roar' (2014) and 'Carry Fire' (2017), 'Saving Grace' breathes fresh life into a collection of century-old music, including interpretations of tracks by Memphis Minnie, Low, Blind Willie Johnson, and more. The album was produced by Robert Plant and Saving Grace, with recordings taking place between April 2019 and January 2025 across the Cotswolds and Welsh Borders.
Having extensively toured the UK and Europe, Robert Plant and Saving Grace are also set to make their highly anticipated US debut this autumn with a run of a dozen North American shows, including dates in New York City, Chicago, and Los Angeles.
