Oasis ignited Manchester last night, Friday, July 11, with the first of five sold-out homecoming shows at Heaton Park. Before an ecstatic crowd of 80,000, the iconic band kicked off a series of performances that will see them play to a combined audience of 400,000 at the venue by July 20. Fans from across the globe, including Japan, North America, and Australia, converged on the city for the highly anticipated return.

Stepping onto the stage at 8:15 PM, Liam Gallagher confirmed, "Oasis vibes in the area. Manchester vibes in the area," as Noel Gallagher declared, "this is the place," igniting a fervent response from the crowd. The extensive 22-song setlist commenced with "Hello" and "Acquiesce," setting a powerful tone. Noel dedicated "Half The World Away" to the creators of The Royle Family, Caroline and Craig, while Liam paid tribute to football manager Pep Guardiola before "D’You Know What I Mean?" The visual production for the "Live ‘25" tour was significantly scaled up, with the Heaton Park screens measuring a record-breaking 84 by 12 meters, the largest ever used at a UK concert.

The band's performance featured a succession of hits including "Morning Glory," "Some Might Say," and "Supersonic." Noel took lead vocals on "Talk Tonight," "Half The World Away," and "Little By Little." The main set concluded with anthems like "Live Forever" and "Rock 'n' Roll Star." The encore saw Noel lead a mass singalong of "Don’t Look Back In Anger" before Liam introduced "Wonderwall," telling the crowd, "I adore you all. You’re beautiful!" The night concluded with "Champagne Supernova."

Beyond the live performances, Oasis continues to dominate the UK Official Charts. Their singles compilation, Time Flies… 1994-2009, secured the Number 1 spot for the first time since its 2010 release. Additionally, * (What’s the Story) Morning Glory?* climbed to Number 2, and Definitely Maybe re-entered the charts at Number 4, placing three Oasis albums in the UK Top 5. The band also claimed 14 spots in the UK Official Singles Chart Top 100, with "Acquiesce" reaching a new peak at Number 17.
