In a disappointing turn of events for fans, Jeff Lynne's ELO will not be performing at tomorrow's BST Hyde Park show. The legendary musician is "heartbroken" to announce the cancellation, citing a battle with a systemic infection.
A statement released today, July 12th, confirmed the news: "Jeff has been battling a systemic infection and is currently in the care of a team of doctors who have advised him that performing is simply not possible at this time nor will he be able to reschedule."
This marks the second last-minute cancellation for Jeff Lynne's ELO this week, following the abrupt calling off of their Manchester Co-op Live arena gig just yesterday, July 11th, also due to illness.
The statement emphasized Lynne's regret, stating, "The legacy of the band and his longtime fans are foremost in Jeff’s mind today -- and while he is so sorry that he cannot perform, he knows that he must focus on his health and rehabilitation at this time."
