Ozzy Osbourne is preparing to release a new memoir.

Just days after playing the final show of his career last weekend, the British rock icon announced that he is set to release a new memoir titled Last Rites.

According to the press release, the book is due to be published on 7 October and will tell the "shocking, bitterly hilarious, never-before-told story of Osbourne's descent into hell".

The announcement comes 16 years after the Black Sabbath star released his first memoir, I Am Ozzy, in 2009.

The follow-up is set to cover the health decline that Ozzy has experienced in recent years, as he was diagnosed with Parkinson's disease in February 2019. He publicly announced his diagnosis the following year.

The release announcing the memoir reads, "At the age of sixty-nine, Ozzy Osbourne was on a triumphant farewell tour, playing to sold-out arenas and rave reviews all around the world. Then disaster.

"In a matter of just a few weeks, he went from being hospitalized with a finger infection to having to abandon his tour - and all public life - as he faced near-total paralysis from the neck down."

Due to his deteriorating health, the rock legend, 76, officially retired from touring in February 2023.

The book is also set to explore the highs and lows of Ozzy's career, spanning more than five decades, his marriage to Sharon Osbourne, and his friendships with fellow rockers, including AC/DC's Bon Scott, Slash, and the late Led Zeppelin drummer, John Bonham.

This announcement follows the musician's final performance with his Black Sabbath bandmates on 5 July at Villa Park in Birmingham, England.
