Kesha altered a reference to Sean 'Diddy' Combs in her song Tik Tok to show fans she cared.

In November 2023, Cassie Ventura filed a lawsuit against her ex-boyfriend Combs, accusing him of repeated physical abuse, rape, and other allegations.

The case, which was settled the following day, sparked more civil sexual abuse lawsuits and a criminal investigation into the rapper, which led to him being arrested in September 2024 on charges of racketeering, sex trafficking and transportation to engage in prostitution.

Amid the accusations, Kesha changed the lyrics to her 2010 hit Tik Tok, altering the opening line from "Wake up in the morning feeling like P. Diddy" to "Wake up in the morning like f**k P. Diddy."

In a new interview with People, Kesha explained that the lyric change was her way of showing support for victims of abuse.

"I do not stand for abuse in my house," she told the outlet. "I want to make people feel like we care, we're listening and we know what happened is not right. My way of taking accountability and showing that I care is changing that lyric."

The Praying hitmaker first performed the altered version of the song at Coachella in April 2024, and she later announced her intention to re-record the track with the new lyrics.

Kesha's remarks come shortly after a New York jury found Combs not guilty of racketeering conspiracy and two charges of sex trafficking, one of which related to Ventura's allegations.

However, he was found guilty of two counts of transportation to engage in prostitution, in relation to claims made by Ventura and another ex-girlfriend.

Soon after the verdict was delivered, Kesha took to X to express her support for Ventura.

"Cassie, I believe you," she wrote. "I love you. Your strength is a beacon for every survivor."
