Dylan Minnette has clarified that he hasn't quit acting to focus on his band.

The 13 Reasons Why actor last appeared on screen in the fifth Scream film and the TV miniseries The Dropout in 2022, and over the past three years, he has been prioritising his band Wallows.

However, during an appearance on the Therapuss podcast, the 28-year-old shut down rumours that he'd closed the door on acting for good.

"I think there was a weird narrative that's gone around that I quit acting, but I never felt that or said that," Minnette clarified. "I feel like I've had a desire to do it again in some regard, and if the right thing comes along, then the right thing comes along."

Minnette, who began working as an actor at eight years old, explained on the Zach Sang Show last year that he swapped the screen for the stage because acting was "starting to feel like just a job" and he wanted to put all of his time and energy into proving that he took Wallows "very seriously".

Thanks to his hiatus, the Goosebumps star has started "to have more inspiration" for acting again.

"At some point, when we've fulfilled our Wallows duties and we're all ready to take a break as a band, that's when I'll have the perfect inspiration to do something," he shared.

Wallows, which also features Braeden Lemasters and Cole Preston, released their third studio album, Model, in May 2024 and an EP titled More in March this year.
