Lewis Capaldi's "Survive" poised for sixth UK Number 1 after Glastonbury surprise
29 June 2025
Scottish superstar Lewis Capaldi is on track to secure his sixth UK Official Singles Chart Number 1 with his emotional comeback single, "Survive." The track, released just 48 hours ago, is currently leading the race by over 3,000 chart units, according to the Official Chart: First Look.
Capaldi's return was significantly boosted by a surprise performance on Glastonbury's iconic Pyramid Stage on Friday. This high-profile appearance not only captivated the nation but could also see his breakthrough hit "Someone You Loved" re-enter the chart this week, currently sitting at Number 44.
While Capaldi aims for the top spot, MK's "Dior" featuring Crystal is holding strong at Number 2 midweek. Meanwhile, Ed Sheeran's "Sapphire" is looking to hit a new peak, climbing seven places to Number 5 in the early reports.
Other notable movements in the Official Chart First Look include Chappell Roan's "The Giver," which could re-enter the Top 10 at Number 6, having previously peaked at Number 2 in March. Tate McRae's "Just Keep Watching" is also on the rebound, moving up two spots to Number 18.
Beyond the Top 20, the "Glastonbury effect" is clearly in motion. Lorde's surprise early set on the Woodsies Stage, combined with the release of her new album Virgin, has sent her single "What Was That" rocketing 29 places to Number 27. Luton singer-songwriter Myles Smith's "Gold" is also climbing fast, up 26 places to Number 33, while Pinkpantheress's "Illegal" lifts six spots to Number 30. Irish artist CMAT, another Pyramid Stage highlight, sees her track "Take A Sexy Picture Of Me" jump 14 places to Number 43.
The full impact of Glastonbury on the Official Chart is expected to become even more apparent as the week progresses, leading up to Friday's Official Singles Chart Top 100.
