Katy Perry and Orlando Bloom have ended their engagement, according to a new report.

The couple, who were together for nine years and engaged for six, have reportedly ended their relationship.

"Katy and Orlando have split but are amicable," a source close to the former couple told Us Weekly, adding the split was currently going smoothly.

"It's not contentious at the moment."

Katy, 40 and Orlando, 48, have not been under the same roof since Katy's Lifetimes tour began in April.

The source added that Katy, who shares four-year-old daughter Daisy Dove Bloom with Orlando, was relieved to have ended the engagement as it meant she would avoid a second divorce. She was previously married to comedian Russell Brand for 14 months from 2010.

"Katy is of course upset but is relieved to not have to go through another divorce, as that was the worst time in her life," the source said.

Other outlets suggested the couple may be on the verge of splitting but had not yet committed to a decision.

"They're pretty much done. It's been breaking down the last couple of months and isn't looking good," another source told People.

"I don't really see them being able to turn things around here."
