23 June 2025
Global pop sensation Dua Lipa kicked off the UK leg of her highly anticipated Radical Optimism World Tour with two electrifying, sold-out nights at London's iconic Wembley Stadium. Performing to over 150,000 ecstatic fans across Friday, June 20th and Saturday, June 21st, Lipa delivered triumphant performances, complete with surprise guest appearances and nostalgic nods to her early career.
The Wembley shows were a testament to Lipa’s undeniable stage presence and her knack for creating unforgettable moments. Friday night saw a dazzling collaboration with Jamiroquai, as the legendary artist joined her on stage for a rendition of his classic "Virtual Insanity." On Saturday, fans erupted when Charli XCX appeared for a dynamic performance of "360." These bespoke covers, unique to each city, have become a hallmark of the Radical Optimism tour, with Lipa impressively performing in seven different languages thus far.
Adding to the excitement, Lipa treated her loyal fanbase to rare live performances of early hits. Friday’s crowd was serenaded with "Hotter Than Hell," a song she introduced by sentimentally remarking, "This is the song that got me signed, and it’s the song that started everything." Saturday's audience was delighted by a surprise airing of "IDGAF."
For these homecoming concerts, Lipa unveiled a series of stunning new custom looks, styled by Lorenzo Posocco, featuring exquisite pieces from Swarovski, Christian Louboutin, Valentino, Courreges, and Balenciaga. A particularly striking moment came during Act Four, where a sheer blue Balenciaga slip dress was topped with a faux fur coat that dramatically revealed a Union Jack lining. She concluded the night in her iconic custom black Chanel bodysuit, a faithful homage to a 1992 couture original.
The London dates followed a string of sold-out shows across Europe, Asia, Australia, and New Zealand. The Radical Optimism World Tour now moves on to Liverpool for two nights on June 24th and 25th, followed by Dublin on June 27th, before heading to North America. The tour supports her third studio album, Radical Optimism, which debuted at #1 in 12 countries, including the UK, marking the biggest album debut from a UK female artist in 2024.
