Drake has revealed his multimillion-dollar gambling losses.

The rapper shared a screenshot of his monthly betting tallies on social media, letting slip he had lost more than $8 million (£5.9 million) in the month leading to 19 June.

"Gotta share the other side of gambling..." Drake, 38, wrote to accompany the image. "Losses are so fried right now."

The screenshot indicated Drake had wagered $50,255,270 in the previous week, $75,318,524 in the past fortnight, and $124,527,265 across the past month.

His losses for the entire period came to a total of $8,235,686 (£6,108,766).

The Hotline Bling artist has had gambling wins in the past. He previously shared more successful results of his sports-betting hobby, revealing earlier this year that he had won $630,000 (£467,000) wagering the Baltimore Ravens NFL team would beat the Pittsburgh Steelers in a January game.

Fans were quick to express astonishment at the large sums Drake had shared.

"I can't imagine a world where I'd feel comfortable gambling that amount of money away and then sharing screenshots," wrote one.

Others suggested Drake had been given credits by gambling platforms to make "pretend" bets, as a marketing strategy.

"He gets sponsorships," one wrote. "They essentially give him money to play with on their platform, advertise the plays, and therefore encourage fans to also gamble. This guy didn't lose 120M$ of his own money."
