Miley and Tish Cyrus have addressed rumours of a rift between them.
The mother-daughter duo have clarified that they are not feuding after fans noticed last month that Tish had unfollowed Miley on Instagram.
During the latest episode of her podcast, Sorry We're Cyrus, Tish explained that she had accidentally unfollowed Miley.
"Literally, they were all freaking out thinking I really unfollowed you on Instagram," Tish, 58, said. "It was the worst."
Shortly after fans noticed that Tish was no longer following Miley, she claimed this was due to technical difficulties.
During the conversation, Miley joked that the timing was "weird", as Tish had unfollowed her around the time she went to visit her father, Billy Ray Cyrus.
"If you were in the family or not in the family, it was weird timing," the Flowers hitmaker said. "I went to see (my dad) B-Ray, and you did mysteriously unfollow me - and then you got some backlash and suddenly knew how to press that follow button."
Tish and Billy Ray were married from 1993 until their divorce in 2022. Tish has since remarried, to actor Dominic Purcell, while the Achy Breaky Heart singer is dating Elizabeth Hurley.
Miley then clarified that the unfollowing incident had been caused by "a bug" on Instagram.
"The truth is boring," she said. "There's a bug in Meta, it naturally unfollows the person that you follow with the most engagement. ... I was either, like, 'Mom lost her glasses and can't see,' which is what I thought happened. Then, there was actually a bug in Meta."
Tish then said that the backlash she received at the time was "insane".
Miley had previously explained that the unfollowing saga was an accident, stating that she and her mum are very close.
"I rarely comment on rumors, but my mama and I are too tight for anything to ever come between us," the singer wrote on her Instagram stories at the time. "She's my best friend. Like a lot of moms, she doesn't know how to work her phone and somehow unfollowed me - simple, coincidental and uninteresting."
