The Q&A, hosted by acclaimed radio presenter Matt Everitt, was one of reflection and celebration; as Fogerty discussed his early musical influences, the challenges of reclaiming ownership of his songs, and the joy of working with his sons on the album. With his Glastonbury performance fast approaching, John reflected on his 2007 performance, which he vividly described the festival's unique atmosphere: "It was raining like a son of a gun... I noticed a bunch of people walking around with these rubber boots on." Despite the challenging conditions, Fogerty was charmed by the festival's spirit, noting, "It was chaotic, really tough, and everybody had a smile on their face. And so, you know, what would be better?". His upcoming return to Glastonbury was anticipated with excitement, highlighting his continued connection with live performance and his ability to engage audiences across generations, even in less-than-ideal weather conditions.

Appearing on stage as a freshly-turned 80-year-old, John explained how he celebrated the occasion by performing a show at the Beacon Theater in New York City. "I decided to play a show on my birthday at the Beacon Theater in New York City, and that was really nice," he shared. The event was intimate yet meaningful, with Fogerty noting, "Of course, my family was with me, and a lot of folks came that I had known over the years." He humorously added, "It was medium - it wasn't a gigantic blowout, but it wasn't an intimate setting either. Luckily, I didn't get a cake with 80 candles on it." When discussing turning 80, Fogerty displayed characteristic wit, quipping, "Hopefully most of us get applauded for doing something other than just sticking around a long time.".

Speaking on reclaiming the rights to his songs, John credited wife Julie Fogerty as the driving force, transforming what seemed impossible into reality, with him describing her as a "force of nature" who could "rearrange the universe."

After reclaiming the rights to his catalogue, John went on to discuss how the creation of Legacy ended up becoming a family affair. He went on to say that the idea originated with Julie, who envisioned John re-recording his classic songs. "Julie told me she had this vision... it's full of joy," Fogerty recalled. Initially skeptical, he eventually embraced the project, seeing it as an opportunity to work closely with his musician sons. "I got to go through that process right in front of my kids, who are musicians, and got to show them what it's like when you have something that's pretty good, but it's not good enough," he explained. John was particularly moved by being able to put up a sign reading "John Fogerty and Sons," calling it "just the greatest thing." The album became more than a musical project - it was a family celebration of his legacy, with Julie overseeing the process and his children supporting and participating in the recording.

Later in the evening, John went on to perform an intimate acoustic session with sons Shane and Tyler, whom he introduced by calling himself the “luckiest dad in the world,” to showcase the upcoming release Legacy: the Creedence Clearwater Revival years. The sold-out show saw the trio met with a star-struck and lively audience, who sang, danced and cheered as they performed the revisited hits, including ‘Have You Ever Seen The Rain’, ‘Bad Moon Rising’ and ‘Proud Mary’.
