Macklemore's home was reportedly targeted by burglars over the weekend.

According to a police report obtained by People, two men broke into the Thrift Shop rapper's property in Capitol Hill, Seattle in the early hours of Saturday morning - while his three children were asleep inside.

A woman, identified as the family's nanny, called emergency services just before 1am and alleged the men had used bear spray - an aerosol product designed for deterring aggressive animals - on her.

"She escaped, but three children were still inside the house," the report said. "(The caller) also added that the house belonged to a high-profile individual.... and that she believed the crime may have been politically motivated for some reason."

Macklemore, 41, has been vocal in his support for Palestine amid the Gaza conflict.

The nanny also reported that the burglars yelled, "Where are the jewels, b**ch?" and she took them to a bedroom.

The suspects then allegedly "went through drawers, cabinets and raided the closet full of clothing, jewellery, and shoes".
Macklemore, real name Benjamin Haggerty, and wife Tricia Davis are parents to daughters Sloane, 10, and Colette, seven, and son Hugo, three.

Representatives for the couple have not yet commented on the incident.

In a separate report, police stated the suspects "ransacked the residence stealing thousands of dollars of items".

However, the pair fled the scene shortly after the victim escaped to a neighbouring property.

Family members were called to take care of the children.

Last week, Macklemore played concerts in Ireland and Germany. His next show is set to take place in Calgary, Canada on 5 July.
