The K's and Cassia headline electrifying Rolling Stone Showcase at SXSW London
07 June 2025
Over two electrifying nights on Wednesday, June 4 and Thursday, June 5, Rolling Stone brought its Future of Music U.K. showcase to Hoxton Hall in London’s vibrant Shoreditch neighborhood as a part of the inaugural SXSW London festival. The showcase featured a dynamic lineup of emerging artists who are shaping the future of British music across rock, indie, pop, and alternative genres.
Headlining the event were Merseyside’s punk-pop rockers The K’s, fresh off selling out the iconic Roundhouse in London, and Cassia, the Afro-Caribbean-inspired indie trio whose latest album Everyone, Outside has garnered widespread acclaim. Both bands delivered powerhouse performances that embodied the spirit of Future of Music – spotlighting what’s new, what’s fresh, and what’s next in music.
Opening night captivated audiences with an unforgettable display of raw energy and rock ’n’ roll and featured performances by sister duo Baby Said, Glasgow-based indie outfit Shambolics, Leeds alternative act The Kites, the self-described “post-something” band Cucamaras, and Nottingham punk trio Girlband! At the end of the evening, The K’s delivered high-octane anthems and showcased their distinct sound.
On the second evening, Cassia headlined with a vibrant set that mixed indie-pop hooks with Afro-Caribbean rhythms, cementing their status as one of the most exciting voices in modern U.K. music. Supporting their stellar performance were a diverse mix of talent, including “chaotic pop papi” Bentley Robles, soulful singer-songwriter Charlotte OC, shoegazers Salvana, London trio Stay in Nothing, and Wigan-based indie four-piece the Lilacs.
The showcase was part of SXSW London’s groundbreaking music festival, which transformed venues across Shoreditch into hubs of musical storytelling, showcasing talent from around the globe alongside homegrown U.K. artists.
