Taylor Swift is thrilled by the fact she has been able to regain the rights to her first six albums.

An explosive feud was ignited between Swift, 35, and Scooter Braun, 43, when he acquired the rights to her first six studio albums in 2019.

In subsequent years, Swift set about re-recording the albums to release 'Taylor's Version' records which would allow her to continue to profit from the music.

On Friday, the singer told fans via a post on her official website that she had managed to regain control of her records, writing, "I'm trying to gather my thoughts into something coherent, but right now my mind is just a slideshow."

She continued, "A flashback sequence of all the times I daydreamed about, wished for, and pined away for a chance to get to tell you this news. All the times I was thiiiiiiiiiiiiis close , reaching out for it, only for it to fall through.

"I almost stopped thinking it could ever happen, after 20 years of having the carrot dangled then yanked away. But that's all in the past now."

The We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together singer revealed she had been intermittently bursting into tears as the news sank in.

She concluded, "I really get to say these words: All of the music I've ever made... now belongs... to me."

She also took to Instagram to share photograph of herself posing with vinyl versions of her albums, writing, "You belong with me."

After winning back her original masters, the star teased she will still release Reputation (Taylor's Version) and Taylor Swift (Taylor's Version) in the near future.

Her announcement comes days after rumours swirled that she was set to pay $1 billion (£740 million) to reunite herself with her music.

Payment details of the acquisition have not been disclosed.
