Pop superstar and vocal climate justice activist Ellie Goulding is set to headline the Right Here, Right Now Global Climate Concert on June 6, 2025, at the New Theatre Oxford. This high-profile event, co-hosted by United Nations Human Rights and the University of Oxford, aims to urgently draw global attention to the escalating human rights implications of the climate crisis.
The concert is a key part of the larger Right Here, Right Now Global Climate Summit, the largest climate justice summit of its kind, running from June 4-7, 2025.
Goulding, a UN Global Environmental Ambassador, has consistently used her platform to advocate for climate action, famously urging policymakers at COP27 to "be brave" and fulfill promises. “All we hear are just empty promises all the time. It's just really exhausting. We honestly just want real action,” she stated in 2022, echoing the frustration of countless young people worldwide.
David Clark, Founder and CEO of the Right Here, Right Now Global Climate Alliance, expressed immense gratitude for Goulding’s involvement. “When an artist of Ellie’s stature uses her platform to champion climate justice, the world pays attention,” Clark remarked, acknowledging her significant role in spotlighting the human rights dimensions of climate change.
The Right Here, Right Now Global Climate Alliance, a leading multi-stakeholder partnership for rights-based climate action, boasts an impressive list of celebrity supporters including Celine Dion, Cher, Green Day, Leonardo DiCaprio, and Neil Young, among many others. Launched at COP26, the alliance unites human rights experts, scientists, NGOs, and advocates in a collective fight for climate justice.
Proceeds from the Right Here, Right Now Global Climate Concerts will benefit UN Human Rights climate justice initiatives and establish a dedicated climate fund at MusiCares®, a leading music charity supporting music professionals in need.
