Morgan Wallen takes an early lead in the race for this week’s Official Number 1 album, hoping to net his first-ever chart-topper with I’m The Problem.

The Tennessee-born country star’s fourth studio LP, which includes collaborations with the likes of Post Malone, Tate McRae and Eric Church, is expected to go straight in at the summit on Friday. Previously, Wallen saw Albums Chart success with 2021’s Dangerous: The Double Album (77) and 2023 collection One Thing At A Time (40).

Independent South Yorkshire-formed rockers The Sherlocks are on their way to a career-best with fifth studio LP Everything Must Make Sense! (2). The band, comprising Kiaran and Brandon Crook, Alex Procter and Trent Jackson, previously charted with 2017 debut Live For The Moment (6), 2019 follow-up Under Your Sky (20), 2022’s Would I Understand (9) and 2023’s People Like Me & You (4).

With the release of its 40th Anniversary Edition, Dire Straits’ 1985 record Brothers in Arms could return to the Top 10 for the first time in 39 years, at Number 3 midweek. The album previously debuted at Number 1 on its release, where it spent 14 non-consecutive weeks, and has since spent 271 weeks on chart.

Peter Doherty hopes to score a solo career-best with fifth LP Felt Better Alive (4). As a member of The Libertines, Doherty’s already achieved three Top 10 albums.

As it celebrates its 10th anniversary with a limited 2LP release, Hozier’s self-titled debut could rebound back into the Top 10, up 56 to Number 9 midweek. Hozier previously peaked at Number 3 in 2015.

Southampton-formed metal outfit Bury Tomorrow could match their previous Albums Chart peak with eighth studio LP Will You Haunt Me, With That Same Patience (10). The group – Daniel and Davyd Winter-Bates, Adam Jackson, Kristan Dawson, Ed Hartwell and Tom Prendergast – have already seen success with 2014’s Runes (34), 2016’s Earthbound (36), 2018 release Black Flame (21), 2020’s Cannibal (10) and 2023 LP The Seventh Sun (35).

Linkin Park’s 2024 chart-topper From Zero looks to return to the Top 40 with the release of its Deluxe Edition, featuring three brand-new songs and five live tracks (11).

Avicii’s posthumous collection Avicii Forever could earn the late Swedish DJ and record producer a fourth Top 40 (12), set to join 2013’s True (2), 2015’s Stories (9) and 2019 release TIM (7).

Second studio album Echo could see BTS star Jin bank his first solo Top 40 album this week (16), as focus track Don’t Say You Love Me looks to a Top 20 debut on the Official Singles Chart (19). As a member of K-pop juggernaut BTS Jin already boasts eight Top 40 LPs, including two chart-toppers.

Our final new entry midweek comes courtesy of Måneskin frontman Damiano David, whose debut solo record FUNNY little FEARS expects to debut at Number 26.
