Lil Nas X has recaptured his sense of fun with his music career.
In a recent interview with Paper magazine, the Old Town Road hitmaker, who hasn't released an album since 2021's Montero, revealed that he is currently in a good place with his career.
When asked how he got to this point when he was "under so much pressure", Nas replied: "As human beings we always want to succeed."
"I want to enter and stay committed to this area of my life where I don't try to force every single thing to be the biggest thing in the world because at a certain point, it starts taking the fun out of it," he continued.
The rapper, real name Montero Hill, went on to explain that he has been making more music lately and getting out of his comfort zone.
"I finally found that fun again," the 26-year-old shared. "In the past two weeks I've hosted little club appearances. I never was comfortable with doing stuff like that. I can just go in and be like, 'Hey, let's have fun.'"
Elsewhere in the interview, Nas explained that he spent some time alone in New York to reflect.
"I was finally alone for the first time in my career, completely isolated, just myself and my thoughts and my feelings," he said of the time. "I definitely had to do a lot of unpacking and understand the reason why I did a lot of things - not to judge myself and be like, Oh, that was a bad thing, because for me a lot of s**t is neutral."
He added, "You take whatever you want from it, right?"
The Industry Baby hitmaker is preparing to release his second studio album, titled Dreamboy, later this year.
