Pras Michel has revealed he hopes Trump will grant him a pardon over his 2023 conviction for extortion.
The Fugees rapper, who is currently behind bars awaiting sentencing for his part in a $100 million (£78 million) extortion scheme, told TMZ he and his legal team hope he'll be pardoned by President Trump.
"It's not a secret, you know, we working on a pardon," Michel, 52, told the outlet.
Asked whether he had a message he'd like to send the American leader, Michel spoke of his "love" for Trump.
"At the end of the day, there's always going to be love for any president, no matter what, and he's the current president and you know, look to him," he said.
"And all we can do is wish that, you know, wish the best for him and we all gotta play our part... so big up to him and everything he got going on and obviously I hope he turn an eye on me, obviously."
He then pointed out it was early in Trump's term.
"It's only been what, 60-something days whatever it is, so you know, we just gotta stand by him," Michel said.
In 2023, the Grammy winner was tried for leading a multimillion-dollar foreign extortion scheme.
After a three-week trial, he was found guilty of ten counts, including acting as an unregistered foreign government agent, and conspiracy.
