Paloma Faith has opened up about her changing views when it comes to marriage.

The 43-year-old pop singer married a chef from New Zealand in 2005 - but they separated after a few months and divorced in 2009.

She later had a 10-year romance with artist Leyman Lahcine, with whom she shares two daughters, but they split in 2023.

The star is now enjoying a new relationship and may even walk down the aisle despite refusing to swap vows with her ex.

Speaking on the Newly Weds podcast, Faith said: "This is a strange thing. I wasn't married to my kids' dad and I've always been someone that's very anti-marriage, because the history of it is that it's about ownership of women and I'm the child of a feminist.

"Weirdly, I don't know what's changed in me, but this guy gives me a bit like 'Oh well' ... I remember when I met him I was like, 'I'm never going to get married, don't ever ask me'. And then over time now I'm like, 'Yeah I don't know, I'll keep an open mind'. I can just feel myself softening."

The singer then joked, "If my mum hears this she'll be like 'What the hell is going on with you? Is it a mid-life crisis?'"

And then she added, "I do think having kids with someone is stronger than marriage from experience."

The Only Love Can Hurt Like This singer went on to say she would only marry someone who was her financial equal or more financially secure than her as she wants to leave all her cash to her children.

She revealed, "My mum's mum when she died left them £170 each. We cried more about that. It was the most harrowing thing, to be like 'She worked so hard her whole life and that was all she could leave her kids'. That makes you feel so sad."
