Island EMI make history with a treble of Number 1s across the Official Singles, Albums and Compilation Charts for the first time in over 10 years!

The Official Charts Company can confirm that Island EMI are the first record label group in over 10 years to secure the Number 1 position across the UK’s Official Singles Chart, Official Albums Chart and Official Compilation Chart in the same week.

Lola Young hits the top spot of the Official Singles Chart for a third consecutive week with Messy, The Weeknd’s new album Hurry Up Tomorrow debuts at Number 1, his fourth UK Number 1 album, and finally the WICKED Motion Cast Recording remains at Number 1 in the Official Compilations Chart, as well as the Soundtracks Chart for an eleventh consecutive week.

This marks only the third time this millennium that a record label group has managed this impressive feat. The last time it occurred was in 2013 by RCA Label Group, who topped the three charts simultaneously with Mirrors by Justin Timberlake, The Next Day by David Bowie and The Trevor Nelson Collection. Prior to that, the only other label group to do the treble since 2000 was RCA Arista in 2004.
