Sharon Osbourne has admitted she's feeling "very emotional" about her husband Ozzy Osbourne's final performance.

On Wednesday it was announced the heavy metal icon will reunite with his Black Sabbath bandmates for one last show.

This will be the first time in 20 years the original line-up will perform together, and on Thursday, Sharon revealed her mixed emotions about the homecoming gig.

"Very emotional but very happy," she replied when asked how she's feeling about the concert, during an interview with Radio X Classic Rock.

She continued, "It's time for Ozzy to say goodnight to everybody and what better way to do it than to do it surrounded by your friends, your family and back to the beginning, the place where he was born in Aston?"

The show, dubbed Back To The Beginning, will take place at Birmingham's Villa Park on 5 July.

Ozzy will be joined on stage by his bandmates Tony Iommi, Bill Ward and Geezer Butler.

Other acts scheduled to perform at the one-day festival include Metallica, Pantera, Lamb Of God, Slayer, Gojira and Anthrax.

Sharon is thrilled to see so many rock legends on the bill.

"It's heart-warming to realise what great friends you've got," she shared. "And Ozzy is loved and by his peers and Sabbath. You know, Ozzy and Sabbath are loved and it's fantastic."

She added, "It's really a great feeling to think that all the years you've been in the industry and you're still loved and relevant."

Elsewhere in the interview, Sharon touched upon Ozzy's health battles with Parkinson's disease and his spinal injuries.

Ozzy hasn't been able to tour for some years due to his declining condition, and last year revealed he "can't stand upright".

When asked how the 75-year-old star will prepare for the July performance, Sharon replied: "You know, Parkinson's isn't something that goes away. You have it forever. There's no cure.

"He has to work with the physical therapist every day... He's fine. As fine as you can be with Parkinson's."

Proceeds from the event will benefit charities including Cure Parkinson's, Birmingham Children's Hospital and Acorn Children's Hospice.
