Janelle Monáe has called out Nelly for performing at U.S. President Donald Trump's inauguration ball last month.
During a Grammys after-party at Andy's in West Hollywood on Sunday night, the Make Me Feel singer hopped on stage with Anderson .Paak for an impromptu rap session.
As the live band played Nelly's Hot in Herre, Monáe delivered her own freestyle rap in which she called out the hip-hop musician for performing at Trump's Liberty Inaugural Ball.
"F**k you Nelly. I used to like Nelly, but then he went to perform for Donald Trump," Monáe rapped, according to footage posted online. "I care about women, I care about Hispanics. I care about Mexicans, I care about gay people. F**k you Nelly, you sold out. I used to think you was cool. But now you look like a motherf**king fool."
She ended her freestyle by telling Nelly to "get a new attitude", prompting cheers from the crowd.
The Ride Wit Me hitmaker previously defended his decision to perform for the controversial politician.
"I didn't know that I had to agree with your political choices," he told rapper Willie D in a video interview. "I'm not doing this for money. I'm doing this because it's an honour. I respect the office. It don't matter who is in office. The same way our brothers and sisters go to war to put their life on the line for whoever is in office. So, if they can put their life on the line for whoever is in office, I can damn sure perform for whoever is in office."
Earlier in the night, Monáe performed a rendition of Michael Jackson's Don't Stop Til You Get Enough as part of the tribute to late composer and record producer Quincy Jones at the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles.
