Big congratulations are in order for US singer-songwriter Gracie Abrams, who gains her first-ever Top 40 entry on the Official Singles Chart today with Close To You (35). Originally demoed in 2018, the fan favourite has caught fire online, enabling Gracie to re-visit and release the synth-pop tune.

Speaking exclusively to Official Charts, Gracie Abrams says:

“Holy f*cking s*it! I can’t begin to thank [the fans] enough for caring about the music and welcoming it into their lives.

“This song has existed for so long and for it to see the light of day – and [see success] more than any of my other songs out there is so fulfilling. It’s entirely because of them.”

Eminem spends a second week atop the Official Singles Chart with Houdini.

It’s the first time the rap superstar has secured more than one week at Number 1, having previously scored 10 chart-toppers: The Real Slim Shady (2000), Stan (2000), Without Me (2002), Lose Yourself (2002), Just Lose It (2004), Like Toy Soldiers (2005), Smack That with Akon (2006), The Monster with Rihanna (2013), River with Ed Sheeran (2017) and Godzilla with the late Juice WRLD (2020).

Eminem’s 2002 Number 1 Without Me, which is heavily referenced in Houdini’s music video, reaches its highest peak since 2002 today, up one to Number 37.

She’s already the Queen of Caffeine, and Sabrina Carpenter hasn’t run out of steam yet. Brand-new single Please, Please, Please is this week’s highest new entry, debuting at Number 3, just one behind former chart-topper Espresso, which holds on at Number 2.

As she tops the Official Albums Chart today and continues a string of UK shows om The Eras Tour, Taylor Swift’s Cruel Summer re-enters the Top 40 at Number 17. The 2019 track previously peaked at Number 2 last year, following a viral resurgence.

RAYE’s epic seven-minute musical experience Genesis. debuts at Number 22. The ambitious follow-up to Number 1 hit Escapism. becomes Rachel Keen’s 15th UK Top 40 single.

Following BRAT’s debut on the Official Albums Chart, Charli xcx’s slick and breezy 360 enters the Top 40 for the first time today (27), becoming Charli baby’s 16th Top 40 hit to date.

Tems’s Love Me JeJe re-enters the UK Top 40 and returns to is previous peak (36) and, finally, Flex (UK) & Nate Dogg’s 6 In The Morning rises 10 (40), becoming Flex’s first and Nate Dogg’s seventh Top 40 single entry.
