Guess who’s back? Eminem gets back down to business and claims the biggest opening week for a single of 2024 so far, as Houdini becomes his 11th Official Number 1 single in the UK.

The first track lifted from his upcoming 12th studio album The Death of Slim Shady (Coup de Grâce), it marks the Missouri rap superstar’s first UK chart-topper since 2020’s Godzilla, featuring the late Juice WRLD. Houdini clinches the UK top spot with 104,800 chart units this week including 13.3 million streams.

Moreover, following a string of successful chart-topping collaborations, Houdini becomes Eminem’s first fully solo Number 1 single in 19 years, since Like Toy Soldiers topped the chart in 2002. Houdini also marks the biggest opening week of video streams (4m) since Adele’s Easy On Me in October 2021 (4.58m).

And as if that wasn’t enough, Houdini is officially Marshall Mathers’ biggest opening week since Without Me debuted at Number 1 in 2002. Without Me also returns to the Top 40 for the first time in 19 years this week (38).

Earning the biggest opening week for a song since Dave and Central Cee’s Sprinter - exactly one year ago this week - Houdini also draws Eminem level with Calvin Harris on the list of artists with the most Number 1s on the Official Singles Chart; each with 11 to their name.

Following a five-week stint at the summit, Sabrina Carpenter’s Espresso is dethroned; down one to Number 2.

Central Cee and Lil Baby’s team-up BAND4BAND lifts one to a new peak this week (3), as does breakout Luton singer-songwriter Myles Smith’s Stargazing (8).

Speaking exclusively to Official Charts, Myles Smith says: “I cannot believe it! What the hell, Number 8?

“Genuinely, it’s beautiful to see Stargazing resonating with so many people, what a start to a wild journey and lovely summer. I refuse to go out a one hit wonder – I can’t wait to do it again! So much love for the support.”

Mark Ambor’s bouncy Belong Together is on the rebound once again, up one this week (14), as Chappell Roan’s Good Luck, Babe! jumps four week-on-week to a new peak (16).

Zach Bryan’s Pink Skies bags a new best this week (25), as do Teddy Swims’ The Door (28) and Gunna’s One Of Wun (30).

Finally, Fred again.. joins forces with Anderson .Paak and CHIKA to secure his seventh Top 40 to date with places to be (35).
