Sean 'Diddy' Combs has shared a cryptic message about "truth" amid legal allegations including sexual assault and sex trafficking.

The 54-year-old musician was plunged into controversy in November when his ex-girlfriend Cassie claimed he abused her during their relationship.

That case was settled, but in the months since, Combs has faced further allegations of sexual misconduct in four more lawsuits as well as federal raids on his homes in Los Angeles and Miami.

On Tuesday, Combs - who has denied all allegations made against him - shared a cryptic post on Instagram that simply read, "Time tells truth."

He added a caption to the statement which included the word "love" and four emojis showing a black heart, a swirling star, sparkles and a lightning bolt.

Last year, Combs - who has been known as Puff Daddy, P Diddy and Diddy over his four-decade spanning career - rebranded as 'Love' before releasing his fifth record, titled The Love Album: Off the Grid.

Appearing on The Graham Norton Show last November, Combs said late singer David Bowie inspired him to change his stage name and persona.

He told the talk show host, "I was always a fan of his, and he was always able to give you different artistic personas. But for me, my real life is my art, and so there's been different eras.

"So there's been the 'Puff Daddy' era, the 'P. Diddy' era, but I dropped the P. Then it was the 'Diddy' era and now, this is the ultimate goal. I have become Love."
