Calvin Harris has defended his Ultra Music Festival 2024 set.

The Scottish DJ and record producer has responded to social media users who described his recent headlining set at the Miami festival on Sunday as "underwhelming" and "boring".

On Wednesday, the EDM superstar defended playing mostly his own songs in response to a comment describing his set as "underwhelming" underneath an Instagram post featuring a compilation of footage from his set.

"you expect me to play none of my songs?" he wrote in the comments section. "3 songs since 2014 hmm how deep is your love - billion streams, this is what u came for - billion streams, my way - billion streams, slide - billion streams, feels - billion streams, one kiss - billion streams, and the other 5 half a bil and before 2014 another 20 and not cheesy s**t proper f**king songs with real artists and you'd rather I play Fein trap edits today."

Calvin's set included some of his most recognisable hits, including his 2016 collaboration with Rihanna, This Is What You Came For, and his 2012 collaboration with Ellie Goulding, I Need Your Love.

"spent months making new versions of everything for this and you wonder why I never play edm festivals," the record producer continued. "at least people I saw irl had a great time and I can be happy with that but f**k at this point whatever I do is gonna p**s you off."

The DJ's performance on Sunday marked his first appearance at the three-day Miami festival since 2013.
