Zayn Malik has opened up about raising his daughter out of the spotlight.

The British singer has revealed why he wanted to raise his three-year-old daughter Khai, with ex-girlfriend Gigi Hadid, on his farm in rural Pennsylvania.

"When I found out that my partner at the time was pregnant, I pretty quickly made up my mind that this would be a great place to raise a child because there's so much for her to do here," Zayn, 31, told L'Officiel in a new interview. "So, we do spend a lot of time outside."

Khai spends half her time with her mother and the other half with the former One Direction star at his farm.

"We do the gardening," the singer told the outlet of his time with his daughter. "She likes to camp with me. We cook outside. We fish a little bit. And she's really into it, too, so it makes it fun. Hopefully, we can create some amazing memories here."

Zayn added that he has been learning to grow his own food.

"I love gardening. I got into it when I moved out here, probably about seven years ago," he shared. "And now I get to share that experience with her, because I've gotten a bit better at things. My crops are actually edible and usable."

The Dusk Till Dawn singer then went on to say that Khai might follow in his footsteps and become a musician.

"Khai has a lot of natural ability herself already," Zayn remarked. "I know, it sounds ridiculous because she's three, but her retention for language, especially when it's formatted in a musical sense to her, has been amazing."

Zayn and Gigi, 28, dated on and off from 2015 until they called it quits for good in 2021.
