With the weather getting colder, the smell of mulled wine filling the air, and mince pies cooking in the oven, here comes a Christmas song with a difference from the post-rock minds of Oceansize.
As a generous Christmas gift to their fans, they are giving away a free mp3 download of their cover of the Aled Jones classic "Walking In The Air" on their Myspace page.
"We decided to record this tune years ago.... but never got round to it. We played it at a Christmas party in Manchester back in 1999 and have been threatening to record it ever since. It's one of the darker festive tunes, and of course we're pretty well versed in that side of music! It's a pretty long version at about 7 minutes, but it's such a lovely tune that it deserves beefing up a bit. It's gotta be the loudest Christmas single ever, a real 'everything plus the kitchen sink' arrangement. This is certainly one to play your Gran just as she's trying to sleep off the Christmas pudding and the pints of gin." - Mike Vennart
