Aly Michalka is expecting her first baby.
Aly, best known as one-half of the pop duo Aly & AJ, has announced that she and her husband, filmmaker Stephen Ringer, are expecting their first child together.
"It's been a really easy pregnancy, which I feel really lucky and blessed to have experienced," Aly told People on Wednesday.
The 34-year-old added that she is due in May.
The Easy A actress found out that she was expecting a baby the day before she and her sister AJ Michalka were due to perform at their sold-out concert in Los Angeles in September.
"In another world, I could have waited to take a test another day, but for whatever reason I was like, 'I'm past a week being late, and I should just take the test,'" she recalled. "And then it was just like, 'Oh my gosh. We play this huge show tonight, and now I'm holding in this huge secret.'"
Aly added that she didn't tell anyone but her husband the news until after the show.
The former Disney star explained, "I didn't want it to take away from the special meaning of that night, and we already had so much on our minds that we were juggling."
Elsewhere in the interview, the Potential Breakup Song hitmaker said that her pregnancy has been "smooth sailing so far" and she has "just been just trekking away as usual".
Aly and Stephen, 39, tied the knot in June 2015.
