Snoop Dogg has heaped praise on former U.S. President Donald Trump.

While speaking to The Sunday Times, the Gin and Juice rapper expressed respect for the man who "has only done great things for me".

"He ain't done nothing wrong to me. He has done only great things for me. He pardoned Michael Harris," Snoop said, referencing the co-founder of Death Row Records. "So I have nothing but love and respect for Donald Trump."

Michael was imprisoned in 1988 for drug trafficking and attempted murder, according to The New York Times. He was pardoned by Trump in January 2021.

After Trump became the U.S. President in 2016, Snoop told fans he would move to Canada over the election. He did not.

In November 2017, the rapper released cover art for his EP Make America Crip Again - which featured a corpse labelled "Trump".

Despite previously disavowing the president, Snoop approved of his decision to pardon Michael in January 2021.

"I love what they did," he told the New York Post at the time. "That's great work for the president and his team on the way out."

Trump is currently seeking the Republican nomination for the upcoming U.S. presidential election.
