Nicki Minaj has assured her fans that her documentary series is "still coming".

In July 2022, the Super Freaky Girl rapper released the trailer for a six-part documentary series titled Nicki and told her followers it was "coming soon".

Nicki was asked what happened to the project on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen on Thursday night and she explained that it was pushed back due to delays with her album Pink Friday 2.

"Because my album was not done when I was going to originally put it out, I didn't want the documentary to come out without the music, that would have made no sense to me," she shared. "Because of that, that network they had to go with something else and I couldn't force a documentary out either.

"Now we have two people that are really interested and I think it's going to be a nicer or easier experience to bridge the documentary now with the music. I will tell you guys more about it soon but the documentary is absolutely still coming."

The 41-year-old rapper insisted that her fans will experience "a different level of emotional rollercoaster" watching the documentary because they have had time to digest Pink Friday 2, which was released last week.

The documentary is finished, however, the rapper would like to add in fresh footage to "reflect the aftermath of Pink Friday 2".

While she did not share a release date, Nicki told host Andy that she would like it to come out before her world tour kicks off in March.
