Cher wondered if she was putting her relationship with Alexander 'AE' Edwards "in jeopardy" by working with him on her Christmas album.

The Believe singer wasn't sure if it was a good idea for the music executive, who she has been dating for a year, to serve as a producer on her new holiday album, titled Christmas.

"I kept thinking 'Oh, do I really want to do this? Do I really want to put my relationship in jeopardy?'" she told Access Hollywood. "Because I don't care how you try to patch it. If somebody does something for you and you don't like it, it's bound to do some sort of, little bit of damage."

However, she added, "But I really believed in him. You know, I just believed in him and he's produced a lot of big people and written a lot of hit songs."

The 77-year-old worked with Alexander, 37, on the festive tune Drop Top Sleigh Ride, which features rapper Tyga.

She explained to the outlet that her boyfriend surprised her by recruiting the Rack City hitmaker for the track.

"Except Alexander can't keep a surprise," she noted. "So right before he said, 'Okay, T's on it. T's on it.' And I was like, 'Oh my god, T's on it.' And I thought, you know, maybe Alexander had twisted T's arm. But he - no, he said, when he heard it, he thought, 'That's cool. I want to be on it.' And so it was it's a real surprise and comes at a perfect time."

Christmas, featuring DJ Play A Christmas Song, was released last month.
