Taylor Swift met with the family of the fan who died during her recent concert before her final São Paulo show on Sunday.

Ana Clara Benevides Machado, 23, suffered a cardiac arrest and died on 17 November after falling ill before the singer's concert due to the extreme temperatures in Rio, Brazil.

On Sunday, her family attended Taylor's final performance in São Paulo and watched the concert from one of the VIP tents at the Allianz Parque venue.

Local newspaper, Folha de S.Paulo, shared a photo on social media of Ana's family posing with Taylor backstage before the show. The family members, including her father Weiny Machado, wore white T-shirts with Ana's smiling face printed on them while Taylor wore her pink bejewelled show costume.

It is unclear if the family were personally invited by the 33-year-old.

After Ana died, the Blank Space singer wrote on her Instagram Stories, "I can't believe I'm writing these words but it is with a shattered heart that I say we lost a fan earlier tonight before my show. I can't even tell you how devastated I am by this."

She told fans that she wouldn't speak about her fan's death on stage because she felt "overwhelmed by grief".

However, fans believed her surprise performance of Bigger Than the Whole Sky on 19 November served as a tribute to Ana.

Sunday's show marked the final Eras Tour date of the year. Taylor will resume the trek in Tokyo, Japan in February.
