Ashley Gorley has been named ASCAP Country Music Songwriter of the Year for a record 10th time.
During the 61st ASCAP Country Music Awards held at the Twelve Thirty Club in Nashville on Monday, the You Proof writer was awarded ASCAP Country Music Songwriter of the Year.
The 2023 ceremony marked the 10th at which Ashley received the Country Music Songwriter of the Year award, extending his record for most wins in that category.
Ashley collaborated on 10 of ASCAP's most-performed country songs in the past year, including five by Morgan Wallen: You Proof, Last Night, Everything I Love, One Thing at a Time, and Thinkin' Bout Me.
You Proof was also named ASCAP Country Song of the Year, marking the third time that Ashley has co-written the ASCAP Country Song of the Year. The country track debuted at No.1 on Billboard's Hot Country Songs chart and peaked at No.5 on the Billboard Hot 100.
The 46-year-old writer's other songs included Gold with Dierks Bentley, She Had Me at Heads Carolina with Cole Swindell, What He Didn't Do with Carly Pierce, Girl in Mine with Parmalee, and You Didn't with Brett Young.
