Taylor Swift sent flowers to songwriter Diane Warren over the weekend to celebrate the long-awaited release of their collaboration Say Don't Go.

The Shake It Off singer wrote the track with the multiple Oscar nominee for her 2014 album 1989 but it did not make the cut. However, the song finally surfaced on Friday with the release of 1989 (Taylor's Version).

To celebrate the song finally seeing the light of day, Taylor sent Diane a bunch of flowers and a note over the weekend.

"Just got this from @taylorswift. Not the cat, I already had that. If U want to know why she is the biggest artist on the planet, this kind of kind gesture is one more reason why. #SayDon'tGo," Diane captioned an image of the note and flowers.

In the note, Taylor penned, "Diane, it was a dream come true to write with you. I hope you love Say Don't Go as much as I do!! Sending the biggest hug to you! Love, Taylor."

1989 (Taylor's Version), the latest in the singer's album re-recording project, features the original 16 tracks, as well as five previously unreleased "from the vault" songs, including Say Don't Go.

In an interview with Rolling Stone, Diane insisted their collaboration was "worth the wait".

"Everything has its time, you know? It took a while to see the light of day, but I'm glad it finally did," she shared.

Recalling her reaction to hearing the finished track, the songwriter added, "I said, 'Oh my God, this is f**king awesome.' It was such a surprise to me that the record version was as good as it was. You know what? I hope they release this as a single because I think it's a f**king hit."
