A second woman has accused composer Danny Elfman of sexual misconduct.

According to court documents obtained by The Hollywood Reporter, a 47-year-old woman in Maryland filed a lawsuit against the Oscar-nominated composer on Thursday.

The suit named both the musician and his company Musica de la Muerta in a complaint for sexual assault, gender violence, intentional infliction of emotional distress, sexual harassment, and negligence.

Filing in the Los Angeles Superior Court under the pseudonym Jane Doe XX, the woman alleged that Elfman sexually abused her from 1997 to 2002.

According to the complaint, she met the then-47-year-old Elfman at a party in April 1997 when she was a 21-year-old New York Film Academy student, after which he began treating her as "a consultant and protegé".

Over the next five years, when Elfman and the woman were alone together, Elfman allegedly "removed all of his clothing until he was completely nude, and walked around nude in front of Plaintiff, exposing his genitals. Defendant Elfman expressed to Plaintiff that this was the only way he could work, be creative, and successful".

Due to his prominence in the industry, the woman felt "she had no choice but to always comply with his requests, and Plaintiff felt this was a condition of their continued relationship".

The woman claimed she sometimes slept in the same bed as Elfman but never removed her clothing, while he slept naked next to her. She claimed that around 2002, Elfman told her, "Every time you have ever slept next to me, I would masturbate next to you."

She reportedly ended her relationship with Elfman following that disclosure.

A spokesperson for The Nightmare Before Christmas composer said, "The allegations of misconduct made against Mr Elfman are baseless and absurd. His legal team is assessing all options and he will vigorously defend these claims in court."

The 70-year-old was previously accused of sexual misconduct by composer Nomi Abadi. Elfman denied the allegations and the musicians reached a settlement in 2018.
