Jana Kramer was hospitalised with a "bad bacterial infection" during her babymoon in Florida.

The singer, who is pregnant with her third child, posted a series of photos from the hospital on Instagram on Sunday and revealed that she spent two days in a hospital in Florida to be treated for "a bad bacterial infection that got into the kidneys".

In the lengthy caption, the One Tree Hill alum explained that she had been brushing off back pain for weeks but finally sought medical attention after the pain became too great on the trip.

"When we landed I just couldn't handle the pain anymore and I started to feel even more sick so we went to the hospital," she wrote. "Long story short it was a bad bacterial infection that got into the kidneys. This resulted in a 2 day stay in hospital and antibiotics because I let it get passed where I should have."

The 39-year-old assured her fans that her baby "is good" and advised them to learn from her mistakes and listen to their bodies.

"If u hurt, talk to ur doctor. Leaving things for too long or not taking care of yourself when ur not feeling good can become very serious (sic)," she noted.

Jana then thanked her fiancé Allan Russell for staying with her in the hospital.

"Shout out to this amazing man who I begged to go sleep at the beautiful hotel he got for us but instead slept on a pull out chair," she gushed. "Find u a man who doesn't make u feel bad or leave ur side when ur not feeling good (sic)."

Jana confirmed her relationship with the Scottish soccer star-turned-coach in January and they announced their engagement in May. The following month, they revealed they were expecting their first child together.

The singer also shares two children - Jolie, seven, and Jace, four - with her ex-husband Mike Caussin.
