Rachel Zegler has slammed a podcaster for making a lewd joke about Taylor Swift's rumoured romance with Travis Kelce.

Earlier this week, Dan 'Big Cat' Katz declared on his Barstool Sports podcast Pardon My Take that the pop star was faking her romance with the American football player "to try to make her star bigger" and he wouldn't believe their relationship until he saw footage of them having sex.

Katz has come under fire for his crude remarks, and the West Side Story actress joined in on X, formerly known as Twitter, on Tuesday.

"It's not news that the media is particularly (and unwarrantedly) cruel to taylor swift but the way men feel entitled to speak about women, their bodies, and their sex lives needs to be seriously evaluated," she began.

"You will never see people speaking this way about a man. that goes for a lot of different scenarios. we do not pick apart men's attitudes and relationships the way we do women's. and it's not always just men who speak this way about us. women can and do, too. it sucks."

After some users insisted that Katz was simply making a joke, the 22-year-old replied, "You've got to understand that since the beginning of time 'you can't take a joke' has been synonymous with 'let me say a horrible thing about women without suffering the consequences' - we're sick and tired! it's never been funny! get a life!"

Following the backlash, Katz insisted his comments should not have been taken seriously.

Dave Portnoy, the founder of Barstool Sports, also weighed in by writing, "I literally lost sleep over Dan's grotesque comments. But we do live in a free country and I believe in freedom of speech. Hopefully Dan can learn from this and we all can move on."
